Please use the form below to test your Titles and Descriptions before publishing your website pages. Bear in mind Google generally displays a maximum of 55 Characters of your Title in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) and this includes spaces. Anything above that length is sometimes displayed, but has … appended to the end of the Title text.

In my demonstrated Title and Description displayed below;

The Title of the page is displayed as Blue and displays properly in all Search Engine Results Pages. 1 - 55 Characters including spaces.

The Domain of your website is show on the second line and this is normally displayed as Green.

The Description is displayed in Grey text and is generally expected to be between 1 - 155 Characters including spaces.

How to Use:

Type your Title and Description for your page in the form below, As you type the Characters and Spaces are counted and displayed in Grey, when you reach the recommended length for Title or Description, the counting numbers displayed will change to Red.

How many characters that equates too, depends on which characters you use. For example; the capital letter “l” takes up far fewer pixels than the letter “M” or “W.”  As a guide in this updated Title Tester, You are safe to stick to a total of 55 characters and spaces, but be mindful of wide characters as this will increase the chances of a reduced Title Display.
